(continued) A Golden Retriever stands 20-24 inches at the withers, and weighs 55-80 lbs. They come in a wide range of shades that encompass everything from cream, to bronze, however extremely pale or deep color is not desirable. The Golden Retriever is perhaps the most popular family dog today, an easily trained animal that lives to please the people around it. An excellent hunting dog with scent and tracking skills that allow it to perform as well in the field as it does at other pursuits such as rescue and drug searches. Their steadfast nature and amiability makes them a natural for such people-oriented tasks as guide dogs for the blind, and assistance dogs for the handicapped. Temperament problems are extremely rare. © DogDecor.com
